Huge cheers went up as newly-weds Prince Harry and his wife Meghan made their way to the historic Horse Guards parade ground on a glorious spring day.

The couple later joined other members of the royal family on the palace's front balcony to watch the Royal Air Force fly by.

Watched by large crowds, the newlyweds arrived in a horse-drawn carriage as part of a procession.

But the Queen was accompanied by the royal colonels, all on horseback: Prince of Wales, Colonel of the Welsh Guards, the Princess Royal, Colonel of the Blues and Royals, and the Duke of Cambridge, Colonel of the Irish Guards. This, notes the magazine, marks a "major milestone" for the newest member of the royal family, as the train is only used "in an official capacity" by the Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Charles.
