Such was the case in the "City of Brotherly Love" Wednesday night, when the Phillies iconic mascot - the Phillie Fanatic - fired a hot dog launcher, directly at a fan's face.

A Philadelphia Phillies fan has been hospitalized after being hit in the face - not with a foul ball, but a flying hot dog.

The victim, a Phillies fan named Kathy McVay, was checked for a concussion and emerged with painful facial injuries. "I understand a baseball, but not a hot dog", she said with a laugh. "My glasses flew", she said.

Despite the situation, McVay has had a good attitude about the series of unfortunate events, and does not plan to take legal action against the franchise.
