Game of Thrones Final Season Confirmed For 'First Half' of 2019

This is not the first time Bloys had been questioned about the potential movie. Now, it looks like, those issues have been resolved, with the show's many stars set to return for the film.

HBO president Casey Bloys has announced that Goldman's project is the only Game of Thrones spin-off moving forward at HBO. Only one remains, and production on that is aiming to begin next year as the mothership series comes to an end after eight seasons.

Now the network has multiple Game of Thrones plates spinning as they gear up for production on Jane Goldman's prequel pilot, which Bloys said they are "obviously excited about the script and the story". Bloys is aiming for a 2019 start date, reminding the assembled press that they don't even have a director or cast in place yet. "We hope to be shooting sometime in the new year".
