How Harley-Davidson plans to revamp itself amid flagging sales
The Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 will become the company's first adventure touring motorcycle once launched in 2020.
"We're going to be doubling down on existing products", Harley-Davidson CEO Matt Levatich told CNBC on Monday. More electric models, including smaller and lighter bikes, will arrive through 2022.
Harley-Davidson's all-new custom motorcycle with a muscular stance, aggressive, stripped down styling and 1250cc of pure performance, is planned to be released in 2021. This new product and broader distribution are meant to fuel Harley-Davidson's customer access and growth in India, one of the largest, fastest growing markets in the world, and other Asia markets.

The leaker says that the "top part [of the back] is glossy and the bottom is matte" but that it's all "a single part". Though not confirmed, it is believed that the third-generation Pixel phones will sport a wireless charging option.
Harley has also been spending on product development and marketing, including promoting its learn-to-ride academies at showrooms and developing electric motorcycle technology.
To help bring their bikes to more riders, the company is also targeting an update of the company web portal and new retail formats like smaller urban stores. Levatich has emphasised that Harley will produce lightweight urban bikes specifically for young consumers living in "dense urban spaces".
Industry experts have said electric motorcycles - that have no gears or clutch and are a far cry from Harley's loud, bulky cruising bikes - may not appeal to loyal Harley fans.
