Chelsea to decide whether to step up Wilfried Zaha chase

Chelsea have been cleared to push ahead with a deal for Wilfried Zaha after Tottenham withdrew their interest due to Crystal Palace's £75m asking price, according to the Mirror.

Zaha has already snubbed a move to Everton this summer as he does not want to return to the north after his hard spell at Manchester United.

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is confident Wilfried Zaha wants to stay.

Everton to beat Man United for Barcelona ace's signature
The Toffees have cash to spend this summer, already highlighted by the £50 million arrival of Richarlison from Watford. To sign Mina, they will face competition from Everton , as well as a host of other clubs.

Despite reports to the contrary, Tottenham have not registered an interest in Zaha so far this summer, with Mauricio Pochettino instead focusing his efforts and limited resources on Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish. While Hazard is expected to stay put, the Brazilian winger still faces an uncertain future, with Manchester United keen on signing him. Zaha is thus, a viable target, who will bolster the Blues' attack irrespective of the Brazilian's departure.

There has certainly been more talk of outgoings at Chelsea this summer than incomings but with just a week until the transfer window closes, it looks as though the Blues will make a signing or two.

The Ivorian forward, who was a key figure for the Eagles last term, was reported to have told his teammates that he wants to move to Chelsea.

Manchester United Had A Nine-Man Centre-Back Transfer Wishlist
According to Manchester Evening News , Claude said to Sky Sports: "I am confident about the presence of Harry for this season". Manchester United are ready to sell Marcos Rojo to make room for Harry Maguire's £65million move to Old Trafford.

That deal would have increased his wage to £125,000 per week, but Zaha is well aware that he could earn significantly more at Stamford Bridge.

With the player not forcing a move away from Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace would fancy keeping hold of the former Manchester United man. An interesting next few days beckon.
