"We're about to talk about something that affects everybody's life here at CBS", she started. "Let me be very clear".

Julie Chen was absent from the show, having released a statement saying she's taking time off to be with her family.

The departure of Moonves is effective immediately. She's been someone who I admire and respect greatly. Osbourne paused and glanced at her cue cards as she spoke. She's been a friend. "It's very embarrassing and upsetting to talk about her husband, but we do. And so I couldn't agree more with what you said".

Later on Sunday, announcing his resignation, he said: "Untrue allegations from decades ago are now being made against me that are not consistent with who I am".

She went on to say she can't wait for the day where "women are equal, where these stories won't have to happen anymore". Moonves, one of the most handsomely paid CEOs in America, stands to make up to $120 million upon departure.

Trump Tweets Disapproval Of NFL Before Openers
On Sunday morning, Trump tweeted a reference to US television ratings for Thursday's game, which started late due to bad weather. Trump has repeatedly slammed the protests as misdirected and unpatriotic, and has suggested that protesting players be fired.

"Obviously the man has a problem", Osbourne said.

Writer Linda Silverthorn, who says she had consensual sexual encounters with Moonves when she was an assistant and he was a vice president at 20th Century Fox, tells Farrow she was harassed when she arrived for a business meeting six years later, in 1990, at Warner Bros., where Moonves was an executive.

Though she can not claim damages in civil court and a criminal investigation is out of the question, Golden-Gottlieb said she wanted to speak out to rid herself of having to carry the secret. "Throw me a bone!" This is our ninth season and we've been together since the beginning.

"Finally, she again reprinted the letter from a CBS board member that begged her to apologize to President Trump, even going so far as compose the letter she should send, ending the e-mail with the all-caps warning, "IF YOU DON" T DO EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN, YOUR CAREER IS OVER".

Rachel Bloom, the co-creator and star of "Crazy Ex Girlfriend" on the CW, which is half-owned by CBS, shared Farrow's story on Twitter and said, "As an employee of CBS, I would just like to say that Les Moonves should be fired without getting a f--ing dollar".

Julie Chen was a no-show for The Talk's Season 9 premiere, the day after husband Les Moonves' firing from CBS, so that she could "be with [her] family" during this hard time.

"But here's what I said back then and I think it still holds and I want to say it again: There is no excuse for this alleged behavior", O'Donnell said.

Allegations against the CBS executive include coercing women to perform oral sex, exposing himself, forcibly kissed unwilling participants, and threatening to derail the careers of those who rejected him. She also said the story from former TV executive Phyllis Golden-Gottlieb "broke my heart". Sarah Johansen, who was an intern in the late 2000s, says Fager once groped her at an office function and described the culture as "sexist" and a "boy's club". "I'm a nothing. This man is everything and powerful'". Moonves acknowledged making mistakes in his past but said he never abused his power.

He said on CNN that "these women are coming out now" because "they have been extraordinarily frustrated by what they perceive to be inaction on the part of CBS and its board". "And women should not feel they have to carry secrets and burdens".
