Video of a Texas woman leaving a 2-year-old child alone at a doorstep has gone viral, with the explanation drawing even more anger. A doorbell video shows a woman running up to a neighbor's front door, ringing the doorbell multiple times, and running away after leaving the toddler behind.
The owner of the home found the two-year-old boy standing on her stoop and called 911.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said abandonment charges are likely for the woman seen in the video, who is not the mother of the 2-year-old.
The boy's father told Houston TV station KTRK that he lives next door.
A woman left a toddler in front of a Spring home Wednesday night, and it was all captured on video.
"I was gut-wrenched [watching the surveillance video]", Spencer said.
Djokovic dominates Zverev to reach Shanghai Masters final
He is backing instead of the rival ATP World Team Cup, set to take place weeks later at the start of the 2020 season in Australia. Djokovic and Zverev met on clay in the final of the Rome Masters in May last year, the 21-year-old German winning 6-4, 6-3.
The boy is in the custody of Child Protective Services until authorities can release him to a family member.
Then, that night, the friend dropped the boy off at the wrong home, Spencer said.
Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in Texas confirmed the identity of the boy who was seen in a video being left at a woman's doorstep.
Lt. Scott Spencer said the child's mother, who is now in the hospital, asked a friend to drop the boy off at his father's house.
"When Deputies from the Sheriff's Office arrived, they reviewed video surveillance from the residence, and observed a female arrive at the residence in a white passenger auto".
Deputies were able to locate the father the next morning. The incident lasted 23 seconds, police said.
Usain Bolt offered 2-year contract by Champions League-aspiring club
Bolt has previously trained with German giants Borussia Dortmund and trialled with Norwegian side Stromsgodset. Bolt said, holding up a pink slip of paper requesting a blood and urine test.
The boy's father immediately contacted police when he recognised his son.
That never happened, Spencer said during the press conference, so the father assumed plans had changed and he left the neighborhood.
Detectives are working with CPS to reunite the boy with the family.
The sheriff's office said it had identified the woman who left the child but that it had not spoken to her yet.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says the woman could be charged with felony child endangerment.
