It appears that Oakland is in now in the midst of a fire sale after moving Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys. With their season all but officially flushed down the toilet, this team does not need Cooper, who has been seriously underwhelming of late.
Cooper, who is still only 24 years old, exploded for a pair of 1,000-yard campaigns after being selected fourth overall in the 2015 draft. The former Texas standout's first season with Dallas was his best, with 596 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. He started his career with consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and had two 100-yard games this year, but had just two targets and one catch since the second of those games.

The bottom line: Even as rookie receiver Michael Gallup emerges, he, Beasely, Tavon Austin, Allen Hurns and Deonte Thompson are not enough to pressure opposing defenses. When it was revealed last week that the Raiders were trying to get rid of their former first-round pick, a two-time Pro Bowler, the Cowboys went to work. That came after teams had been contacting the Raiders about a deal since the offseason, and after the aforementioned Eagles offer.
Dallas is sending Oakland a 2019 first-round pick for Cooper, according to reports. Recently, we'd heard rumors that Amari Cooper, Oakland's star receiver, was on the trade block, although Gruden denied knowing anything about that. But we also have to give Gruden and McKenzie a tip of the cap for their patience in getting the deal they wanted.
