Breast Cancer Awareness Month: 'Know your body'

- October is breast cancer awareness month, but a local woman works year-round to let others know about hereditary cancers. The survival challenge is often worsened by primary care physicians who mistake what they've seen for a skin infection, says Dr. Shawn McKinney, a breast surgeon and member of the Interdisciplinary Breast Cancer Team at the University of Mississippi Medical Center's Cancer Institute.

These briefings will include five carefully selected articles, created to help women adapt to life after breast cancer.

Come October, breast cancer awareness falls low on the list of things of things busy college students are thinking about.
