Robert Bowers, a white male in his mid-40s, has been identified as the suspect in a shooting that took place at a Pittsburgh synagogue Saturday morning, which killed at least 11 people.

Bowers is said to be a Pittsburgh resident.

He said that any motive remains unknown but that authorities believe he was acting alone.

He also says the crime scene is one of the worst many professionals have seen.

Officials have not released the total number of dead, but local media reports in Pennsylvania said as many as eight people were killed inside the Tree of Life Synagogue.
