The DC United striker, who retired from global football in August 2017, will make a one-off comeback in the fund-raising friendly to honour a record-breaking worldwide career, according to The Sun.

"For me the power of Wayne Rooney is his mentality and strength", Ronaldo told Goalhanger films.

And now, according to The Sun, Rooney will be included in Gareth Southgate's squad for a charity fund-raising friendly against the United States on November 15.

England's all-time top scorer called time on his global career in August 2017 after winning 119 caps and scoring 53 goals for his country.

EU slams re-imposition of US sanctions on Iran
India kept importing oil from Iran knowing it well that it will be saved from sanctions on being strategic partner of the US. Washington will reapply far-reaching sanctions on Iran's petroleum and banking sectors starting on Monday.

News of Rooney's global return comes from The Sun, who state that Rooney will be given the chance to captain England against the U.S. on 15 November.

Wayne Rooney is to be called out of worldwide retirement to play for England in a match that will be renamed in his honour and from which his charitable foundation will benefit.

He is now set to earn his 120th cap for the Three Lions, moving him just five appearances behind Peter Shilton, whose 125 appearances is an England record.

Yet the move still risks accusations of the FA devaluing the fixture, which comes three days before England's potentially decisive Nations League tie with Croatia at the same venue.

He is not expected to start or captain the side against the US, but will be brought on as a substitute in a charity match arranged to raise funds for the Rooney Foundation, which aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children.

Shearer added on the questionable logic of bringing Rooney back into a squad which has moved on from his era: "Were Wayne to be England's best player against the US, I would not get excited".

However, now Wazza will train and play for England once more in what is set to be his very final appearance in an England shirt.

The upcoming friendly will also raise money for Rooney's foundation.
