Facebook, Instagram hit by global outage due to unspecified problems

Downdetector.com reported that in part of U.S. people are facing major issues in operating Facebook and Instagram.

It was the second instance in the past two weeks in which technical issues appeared to affect access to Facebook.

The blunder, which put Ivanka in violation of the White House records law, was first reported in September a year ago . Trump has called Clinton "Crooked Hillary" for using a personal email account when she was secretary of state.

San Francisco: Just days after photo-messaging app Instagram rolled out the feature to track users' time spent on the app, Facebook has now released "Your Time on Facebook" tool that counts how many minutes people spend on the app.

"We are now experiencing issues that may cause some API requests to take longer or fail unexpectedly", a message on the Facebook for developers page confirmed. The problems spawned the hashtags #FacebookDown and #InstagramDown on social media.

Reports of problems accessing Facebook and Instagram have appeared from all over the world, including the USA, Vietnam, Argentina, and the United Kingdom, according to the site Downdetector. "We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can".

It is not known if the outages for both platforms are connected.
