Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool manager charged with misconduct for derby celebration

Manager Marco Silva had consoling words for Pickford, and insisted he had no problem with his Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp running onto the pitch in celebration after the victor. "Both teams delivered an unbelievable fight".

Van Dijk said: "If you look at the footage I thought 'What am I doing?' first".

"To be honest I didn't see (Klopp's run)", he said. How can I know what people make of that?

However, he has tried not to let that affect him and his reward came by writing his name into derby-day history.

Silva said he was proud of his players and refused to apportion any blame to Pickford.

This is the second go-round for the XFL, which is backed by World Wrestling Entertainment chairman Vince McMahon. The XFL will have a 10-week regular schedule, 45-man active rosters and two semifinal playoff games.

"What I can tell you, like we started the match all together, like we have been working since the first day all together, we finish the match all together". Football-wise, in a lot of moments [we were] really good.

However, Mainz 05, who Klopp managed for a seven year spell, have now posted a video of how Klopp celebrated a last minute goal while at the club.

The 1-0 victory extended Liverpool's unbeaten sequence in Merseyside derbies in the Premier League to 16 games although the manner of the winning goal made this one of the more unforgettable of those games.

Klopp said of the Belgian, who was making only his second Liverpool appearance since being on loan at Wolfsburg last season: "I said it to him when I sent him on". I've never forgot it since.

"Fouls and harsh tackles happen, but in his case it was a break in his development". After that, it took a long time before he felt absolutely nothing.

The teams also met in pool play on Friday with New Zealand winning, 24-7. But that was not before the Cheetahs had taken a 12-10 lead at the break.

"It all changed a little bit (for him), you lose confidence and you don't play from here (touching his stomach) any more".

However, Pickford inexplicably palmed it into the air and onto the crossbar, the ball dropping into the path of Divock Origi, who nodded into an empty net and snatched the win for the Reds, keeping them within two points of leaders Manchester City.

"I feel it's a special game for them as well but our fans want us to be the same team, playing to win the match, to be strong, to enjoy the moment and have the ambition to win". It's hard as a player whenever you make a mistake.

"If we stay fit and we can choose to rest players that would be great".
