Matthew Dellavedova's trade to Cleveland Cavaliers, $26 million reason, Milwaukee Bucks

In exchange, the Cavaliers will send guard George Hill and a 2021 second round pick (Washington's via Utah) to the Bucks and forward Sam Dekker to the Wizards.

Hill (6-3, 188) appeared in 37 games (all starts) for Cleveland after being acquired by the Cavaliers on February 8, 2018, averaging 9.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 27.4 minutes per game over that span. Dekker (6-9, 230), who was acquired by Cleveland on August 7, 2018, played in nine games (five starts) for the Cavs this season, averaging 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.22 steals in 18.8 minutes per game. Also, they'll have cap space to sign Khris Middleton when he likely hits free agency in 2019. The Cavaliers and Wizards also swapped second-round picks. He is averaging 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Milwaukee coach Mike Budenholzer said he is excited to reunite with Hill; Hill spent the first three seasons of his career with the San Antonio Spurs, where Budenholzer was an assistant.

Cleveland sends guard George Hill and a 2021 second-round draft pick to Milwaukee, and forward Sam Dekker to Washington.

Matthew Dellavedova is going back to where it all began.

Despite missing a chunk of the season, Hill is a player that will be useful for the Bucks on the court, where his career three-point shooting mark of over 38 percent will see him fit in well with both the Bucks reserves and starters.

The Bucks should get solid play out of Hill when he's in the game, and with them already having Eric Bledsoe and Malcolm Brogdon as point guards, Hill shouldn't have much burden, unless Milwaukee is swinging for the fences and decides to trade one of those aforementioned two. The Cavaliers, meanwhile, continue to stockpile draft picks.

The Washington Wizards joined the trade as a third team and acquired Dekker from the Bucks for Jason Smith. "We wish Jason the best moving forward and appreciate the value he brought to our team as a great teammate and true professional".
