DeAndre Hopkins to donate playoff check to family of slain girl

The FBI has joined local law enforcement in a Texas manhunt to locate the suspect who shot and killed a seven-year-old girl in a drive-by shooting in Houston on Sunday.

Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins plans to donate his entire AFC wild-card game check to Barnes' family after she reminded him of his own daughter.

"On Saturday, I will be playing in your honor, Jazmine", he said, including the hashtags #JusticeForJazmine and #LoveOverHate in his Instagram post.

Hopkins stands to earn about $29,000 from the playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Jazmine, 7, was riding in the auto with her mother and sisters when she was shot in the head over the weekend near a Walmart in Houston. Her mother, LaPorsha Washington, 30, and one of Jazmine's sisters were injured in the apparently random attack. She was reportedly riding in the auto with her mother and three siblings when the gunman fired several shots into the vehicle.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez later corrected earlier claims that the 2017 shooting happened in the same area that Jazmine was killed - saying that shooting took place six miles away.

Gonzalez said the shooting occurred on a service road as the family was heading to a store.

The shooter has been described as a bearded white man, possibly in his 40's, driving a red truck. Her mother has been hospitalized since the shooting.

Authorities say they're not aware of any interaction or links between the victims and the shooter.

"We're not gonna rest until we find justice for Jazmine", Gonzalez said. Activist Shaun King and Merritt, the family's lawyer, have also raised $100,000 as a reward for information that leads to the killer's arrest.

Assured India sniff maiden series win in Sydney

Investigators said a red, four-door pickup pulled alongside the vehicle and someone in the truck began firing.

An official briefed on the investigation told ABC News Thursday that federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are comparing shell casings from Jazmine's shooting to those in other cases to see if there are any connections. Washington, who is black, said she believes the shooting may have been a hate crime. The driver of the pickup pulled alongside Washington's auto and fired inside, authorities have said. "Black people are being targeted in this country, black people are being targeted in this county, black people are being targeted in this city".

"I have a five-year-old daughter, so it could've been anybody in that position", Hopkins told reporters Thursday.

"Find him. This evil monster", Union tweeted.
