Jose Mourinho is now without a job after being sacked as Manchester United manager last month. And, while his appointment might not go down well with some of the players, the Real Madrid president is of the opinion that the Portuguese is the right man to revive the club's fortunes.

But United executive chairman Ed Woodward will force Mourinho to stick to the terms of the departure agreement after being stung for £15m when United appointed him in 2016.

Mourinho won three trophies during his time at Old Trafford, which included the club's first ever Europa League title in 2017.

United's signing of Mourinho activated that clause, with the payment written off in United's transfer accounts.

"Everything has been sorted", said a source close to the former United, Inter and Real Madrid boss, reported.

"I haven't received an offer and even if I did, obviously the president of Benfica and the club itself would be the first to know my decision", he said.
