Kyrie Irving calls LeBron James to apologize, ask for advice on leadership

Following the Boston Celtics' win over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, Irving revealed he reached out to LeBron James on Saturday to apologize for his callowness during their time together with the Cavaliers.

Now that Irving is experiencing what it's like to lead a championship caliber team firsthand, he's had a chance to reflect on his former behavior and attitude towards leadership.

"I just want to win so bad." he added.

"He's been in this situation, been there with me, where I've been the young guy, been the 22-year-old kid, wanting everything, wanting everything right now", Irving said.

The adjusting hasn't been easy. Last playoffs, then rookie Jayson Tatum, second-year player Jaylen Brown, and "scary" Terry Rozier had increased roles - and thrived. "And he has a legacy he wants to leave, and he has a window he wants to capture", Irving said.

American CEO among those killed in Kenya hotel attack
In 2015, al-Shabab claimed responsibility for an attack on Kenya's Garissa University that killed 147 people, mostly students. Some ducked behind cars, screaming, while others took cover behind fountains and other features at the lush complex.

"The responsibility of being the best player in the world and leading a team is something that's not meant for many people".

"I've gotta empower them", he said, via The Athletic.

The Celtics are 25-17 this season through 42 games.

However, Kyrie Irving ruffled a lot of feathers when he questioned his teammates' drive to be great. They're even deep with their big men with Al Horford, Marcus Morris and Aron Baynes when he's healthy. I was young. I made some mistakes.

But Ainge remains focused on the big picture of things, noting that this is hardly uncommon for a team. Irving is due to be a free-agent at season's end and the Los Angeles Lakers project to have a max contract spot, so, stay tuned.

Fitzgerald said it's not clear whether Patterson, who is unemployed, owns the home, or how he kept Jayme there. The sheriff said it appeared Patterson had no previous social media contact with the teen, Fitzgerald said.

"I did a poor job of setting an example for these guys of what it's like to get something out of your teammates", Irving said Wednesday.

It sounds like it was a conversation Irving needed to have.

Boston should have a better record this year than it did last year, but it doesn't.

"They have got depth, good coaching and just need to be a little more consistent". "And it gave me a peace of mind to go about what I have to do. But it was good".
