Tiger Woods will make his season debut at next week's Farmers Insurance Open. "It's always great to be able to play at Riviera and I am very proud of the impact the Genesis Open has been able to make on education through my foundation".

Woods admits he played too much a year ago, a mistake he says he won't make again. Woods has won the open seven times, finished in the top 10 six other times and is the open's all-time leader in prize money won, with $6,915,700.

Woods announced on his Twitter page Wednesday that he will play the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego next week.

"We couldn't be happier to have Tiger back in our field", said Peter Ripa, CEO of the Century Club of San Diego.

After being sidelined by back injuries for two years, Woods began a comeback in 2018, starting at Torrey Pines. "The expectations are much different this upcoming year".

Woods who turned 43 on December 30, has not played since hosting the Hero World Challenge last month following an impressive comeback in his first full season on the PGA Tour since 2015. "Now I know that I can do it, now it's just about managing and making sure I'm fresh for events, because I know I can win tournaments again".

Djokovic won in straight sets 6-3, 7-5, 6-4, finishing close to 1am. "I think I've been serving really, really well the last couple days".

He's eligible to play the WGC Mexico Championship right after Riviera, then in quick succession, as the PGA Tour moves to Florida, he'll have to consider the Honda Classic near his South Florida home, and the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which he's won eight times and is special event to him because of its namesake. It was his eighth victory on the PGA TOUR but carried extra significance because of the golf course on which he did it.

The 43-year-old joins a quality field, which includes defending champion Jason Day, world No 1 Justin Rose, four-times major victor Rory McIlroy, and Masters champion Patrick Reed. Tournament organizers will finalize the field after Friday's 2 p.m. commitment deadline.
