US Singer Chris Brown Arrested In Paris Over Rape Allegations

Singer Chris Brown is said to be in custody of Paris authorities, as of this writing.

Police in Paris, France, have announced the arrest of R&B singer Chris Brown.

Chris Brown attended Paris Fashion Week before he was arrested following a rape claim.

He said on Twitter he would present "a different Brazil , free of ideological ties and widespread corruption". The World Economic Forum will be held in Davos, Switzerland , on January 22-25, 2019.

Cops, however, questioned Brown about the incident - along with two others - and released them Tuesday without charges, according to Paris officials.

The French celebrity magazine Closer first reported the story, elements of which were later confirmed by Reuters, AFP and AP. Afterwards, the model alleges she was then "abused" by one of Brown's friends and a bodyguard, as well. Brown is now in police custody, and in two days French prosecutors will decide whether to release him or if he'll face a judge.

He was given five years probation and ordered to do community service for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, in 2009. According to published reports, an unidentified woman is claiming she was raped by Chris Brown. If he is forced to stand trial, Brown would be required to surrender his passport and remain in Paris pending trial.

The alleged victim told police she met Brown in a nightclub near the Champs-Elysees avenue with a group of other women.

In July of 2018, the father of one was once again arrested after a concert in Florida for punching a man back in April. In 2013, Brown was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault following an altercation outside a hotel in Washington, D.C. In June of 2017, a judge granted his former girlfriend Karrueche Tran a restraining order against Brown after she alleged that he texted her violent threats.
