Stone said he is "preparing" for his next scheduled court appearance next week in Washington. He did not enter a plea. And he created the impression within the upper levels of the Trump campaign that he had contacts with WikiLeaks, the shadowy organization devoted to revealing secret documents, which had obtained tens of thousands of emails from Clinton's campaign.
Stone's ties to Trump go back decades.
Dershowitz noted that the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducts dramatic arrests like this one - which was caught on camera by a CNN crew - when they're dealing with the mafia or if they think the subject will try to run. And reading through the indictment, Stone is constantly involved in messy daytime soap-style drama and controversy. The indictment cites several messages, some of which have already been public, that Stone sent to Credico previous year.
He is expected to appear in court later today.
Britains Prince Philip, 97, back driving - without seatbelt
British police have spoken with Prince Philip after he was photographed apparently driving without wearing a seatbelt. She added, "Receiving a message from someone else's partner who wasn't involved in the accident is confusing".
He was released on a $250,000 bond, but with restrictions allowing him to travel only for court appearances in Florida, Washington DC and NY.
Although the indictment still fails directly link Trump's 2016 campaign and Russian officials - which would ultimately represent evidence of collusion between the president and a foreign power - it does represent a turning point in the Mueller investigation. Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort has also said he kept in communication with Stone during the campaign. "And as I have said previously, there is no circumstance whatsoever under which I will bear false witness against the president nor will I make up lies to ease the pressure on myself".
"They found no Russian collusion or they would have charged him with it", Smith said.
Alksne said the indictment proved that the Trump campaign had lied to the American people and to the Congress, and slammed Giuliani's reaction. Attorney Grant Smith, who represents Stone, did not return a phone message seeking comment Friday.
The indictment does not charge Stone with conspiring with WikiLeaks, the anti-secrecy website that published the emails, or with the Russian officers Mueller says hacked them. It says the Trump campaign directed a senior campaign official to contact Stone after the July 22, 2016, WikiLeaks release of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and other groups.
"In subsequent conversations with senior Trump campaign officials, STONE claimed credit for having correctly predicted the October 7, 2016 release", the indictment alleges. "STONE thereafter told the Trump Campaign about potential future releases of damaging material by [Wikileaks]".
Woods to open 2019 schedule at Torrey Pines
It was his eighth victory on the PGA TOUR but carried extra significance because of the golf course on which he did it. Tournament organizers will finalize the field after Friday's 2 p.m. commitment deadline.
The FBI also executed a search warrant at Stone's NY residence, according to Kristin Davis who shares the duplex with Stone. Stone warned Credico he would get "indicted for perjury" because he could contradict Stone's testimony.
Stone was also indicted on a witness tampering charge for his alleged attempts to sway Credico's story before he testified to Congress - even tapping into language from mob movies and citing disgraced President Richard Nixon, who Stone once worked for.
Stone allegedly threatened to "take that dog away from you" in a series of April 2018 messages where the longtime GOP operative called Credico a "rat" and "stoolie".
"I am so ready". Let's get it on. But Stone has long downplayed his communications with Credico-who himself has denied that he was actually close to Wikileaks-as infrequent discussions of information that was already publicly available. A grand jury had heard from witnesses connected to Stone.
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones said on Friday his "spidey sense" indicated that special counsel Robert Mueller would try to shut down his InfoWars platform. In a tweet Friday, Podesta wrote that it was now "Roger's time in the barrel". Stone has also spoken openly about his contacts with Corsi.
Huawei could face U.S. indictment for trade theft
The US wants her extradited to face charges that she committed fraud by misleading banks about Huawei's business dealings in Iran. In May 2017, a jury said Huawei should pay T-Mobile $US4.8 million ($6.69 million) in damages.
