Joe Gomez has had successful surgery on his leg injury and says he is doing "everything he can" to make a prompt return for Liverpool.

Gomez, who Liverpool signed from Charlton Athletic in 2015, made 18 appearances for Premier League leaders Liverpool before sustaining his injury.

Almiron, 24, has signed for a fee around £20 million ($26m) in a move that surpasses the £16m Newcastle paid for Michael Owen in 2005.

"I heard our goal was offside, I'm pretty sure the ref knew that", Klopp told BBC Sport after the 1-1 draw.

However, once again they failed to win.

This is a huge blow for Liverpool more so since Dejan Lovren has also been ruled out of the West Ham United with a hamstring injury.

He added: "We returned to the pace we have shown in previous games".
