The NYPD is investigating the behavior of a Brooklyn precinct commanding officer who allegedly told his officers to "shoot" 50 Cent - and the rapper announced publicly on Sunday that he was never notified by police about the threats against him.

Gonzalez is accused of telling officers during a June 7 roll call last summer to "shoot [50 Cent] on sight" if he made a scheduled appearance at a boxing match in the Bronx, according to New York's Daily News.

In the complaint he filed in the department, Gonzalez said several of 50 Cent's 18 million followers responded with their own threats against the precinct leader.

The club owner of 50 Cent's Love & Lust nightclub in Brooklyn, Imran Jairam, claimed the cops and State Liquor Authority "unfairly targeted" the business when he didn't give Gonzalez what he'd requested.

Gonzalez has been with the NYPD for a long time - more than three decades - and he's still on duty, at least as of now. Although Gonzalez reportedly tried passing the comment off as a joke, an NYPD spokesperson confirmed to the outlet "the incident is under internal review". I take this threat very seriously and im consulting with my legal counsel regarding my options moving forward.

'He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun', he said.
