Lindsey Graham vows to probe Justice Department over Trump

Andrew McCabe, who became acting director after Comey was sacked, asked investigators to develop a plan to ensure evidence would be protected, said the person, who was not authorized to talk about those discussions publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press.

"Then why did [former FBI Director] James Comey deny the claim that he approved your leaks to the press?" she demanded.

Asked whether Mr Rosenstein was on board with the obstruction and counterintelligence investigations, Mr McCabe replied: "Absolutely".

He also said that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein personally offered to wear a wire to secretly record Trump after he fired former FBI Director James Comey.

NBA All-Star Game MVP Prediction & Odds, 2/17/19
The bitter part is that this is the last time, but the sweet part about it is how many memories that we've had over the years. This is the era of prolific three-point shooting and this All-Star game reflected that.

"That was one extreme. It's not something that we discuss at work'". "There's a range of things this could possibly be".

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat who is seeking her party's nomination for president, told reporters after a campaign event Sunday in Las Vegas that if the people around Trump believe he can not fulfill the obligations of his office, then they have a duty to invoke the 25th Amendment.

McCain told McCabe, "I would like you to say right here on national TV that you were not a source for the New York Times, you were never a source for the New York Times or any other publication-considering that's what you're accused of lying about".

McCabe's theory of his firing, by the way, appears to be that the DOJ's Inspector General was in the tank for Trump. In the firing of the director, the president specifically asked Rod Rosenstein to write the memo justifying the firing and told Rod to include Russian Federation in the memo. McCabe said on "60 Minutes" that he did not intentionally lie, and he believes his termination was politically motivated.

That assertion likely comes from a statement by the Justice Department, which said McCabe's descriptions are "inaccurate and factually incorrect".

McCabe spoke with NPR's Morning Edition and said that he sought to halt accusations of an attempted coup. "And to be confronted with an absolute disbelief in those efforts and an unwillingness to learn the true state of affairs that he has to deal with every day was just shocking". Their meeting is just days before Trump's second summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un, and a March 1 deadline when tariffs on Chinese goods balloon to 25 percent, amid warnings of an economy slowing trade war. "His selfish and destructive agenda drove him to open a completely basis investigation into the President". At the time, the "gang" would have included former Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), former House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y). I did not. I had no reason to.

Said McCabe: "He began by talking to me about his Electoral College results in the state of North Carolina, which I didn't really know about or understand how that related to the position of Federal Bureau of Investigation director..."

The allegation was referred to the US Attorney's office in Washington for possible prosecution, but no charges have been brought.
