Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski heaps praise on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Champions League game between the clubs on Tuesday night.

The teams will meet again March 13 in Munich in the second leg of their Round of 16 series.

Salah has unfinished business with the Champions League after being forced out of last season's final with a dislocated shoulder following a clash with Sergio Ramos.

Liverpool are therefore expected to name the usual lethal threesome of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino in attack as they hope to do damage in the first leg.

"But for now it's the Champions League and we have to do our best tomorrow".

In stark contrast to their Premier League form, where Liverpool have been beaten just once all season, Klopp's men lost all three of their group games on the road against Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain and Red Star Belgrade to underline the importance of taking a lead to Germany for the second leg.

"The only thing we can do is give our all and play passionate football. It wasn't a Champions League night from that point of view". There was not one month where you thought: 'Oh good, only these opponents.' It's always tough and we have to be ready for that.

"At the end of the season, we can hopefully say we're champions of one if not both".

"If you look at what Liverpool did in the Champions League last season and what they are doing in the Premier League this season, then you have to say Liverpool is the most hard draw that... That's clear - we know that", he said.

"They are going through a transitional phase but still have lots of great players with bags of experience. It was not a game we will remember in 20 years".
