Valve Expanding Steam Link Functionality So Gamers Can Play Anywhere

"Steam Link Anywhere allows you to stream games to your Steam Link from any computer running Steam", Valve says, noting that the only requirements are a "good upload speed" for the host computer and that the Steam Link device has a solid network connection. It supports the Steam Controller over Bluetooth, as well as other Bluetooth controllers, mice, and keyboards.

As a software successor to the original Steam Link hardware that Valve killed off at the end of previous year, Steam Link Anywhere allows you to stream any game from your Steam library to whichever of those aforementioned devices you choose.

Known as Steam Link Anywhere, the new feature is now in beta and will let users play his or her Steam library from any computer supporting Steam.

Mr al Aiban also said the case of the detained women's rights activists was based in law and was not an attack on human rights. Aiban said that there had so far been three hearings, and that the accused and their lawyers had been present.

Valve's ongoing project to bring streamed gaming functionality to its users via Steam Link has entered a new phase of development as the company moves to remove limitations that tie service to a single Wi-Fi network. You could only stream games on your local network at home.

In theory, you will now be able to stream your entire Steam library provided a strong enough connection to both your phone and computer.

What Valve is doing with Steam Link Anywhere mirrors a lot of what's happening elsewhere in the industry.
