How an Indie Developer Is Making an Official Zelda Game

The game is randomly generated and it features items from The Legend of Zelda, plus spells and weapons from Crypt of the NecroDancer. The new game is from Brace Yourself Games and is a crossover with the iconic Crypt of the NecroDancer.

As announced in the March 2019 Nindies Showcase, Cadence of Hyrule is a roguelike rhythm game similar in style to Crypt of the NecroDancer, which first came out in 2015 and is now available on Switch. According to both Cuphead co-creator, Jared Moldenhauer, and Nintendo's manager of publisher and developer relations, Kirk Scott, the collaboration "just kinda happened".

The game includes 25 remixed Legend of Zelda tunes alongside "modern-looking Lynels" and "Hyrulean Soldiers of old".
