However, since this is a test, not all users would be able to be part of the new plan and it is also possible that Netflix could decide on not making it a permanent option after all.

The tech giant recently sent out invitations for the March 25 keynote with the suggestive title "It's show time", which further fueled rumors that the now unnamed streaming service will launch next Monday.

"It seems fairly obvious they are launching a new video service", said Techsponential technology market analyst Avi Greengart.

Netflix Testing a Mobile-Only Subscription Plan in India, Confirms Streaming Service

Apple is expected to take on streaming rivals like Netflix and Amazon as Hollywood giants Disney and WarnerMedia also move into the space.

According to Bloomberg, Apple might be getting ready to announce a gaming subscription service for iOS devices. The company spends billions of dollars each year to license some of the best third-party content around.

While players like Netflix and Hulu are unlikely to ever sign-on with Apple's service, the company does reportedly already have around 15 streaming providers on board for Monday's launch, which includes a collection of smaller digital-old services like Cheddar and Tastemade alongside the big players like Showtime and Starz.

Steven Groves, a White House spokesman, said: "The White House has received Chairman Cummings' letter of March 21st". And he asked the White House for a briefing on its protocols for preserving records in accordance with the law.

One thing that's likely key to Apple's success in this area is going to be bringing its trademark "Just Works" simplicity to its new streaming service. All of those increases stung, but the main plan was the worst - a $2 price hike from $11 to $13 per month is a whopping 18% increase, the largest by far since Netflix first launched its streaming entertainment service back in 2007. The company's product VP Todd Yellin recently gave a keynote in Mumbai explaining the streaming service's content expansion plans, which will include interactive TV shows and more Netflix original Indian content. Likely absent from the event: any new versions of the gadgets that have helped Apple generate hundreds of billions of dollars in profit since 1976.

Typically, Apple events are focused around hardware upgrades to the company's various devices.

While Apple's events usually follow the same agenda each year, there are a lot of announcements that create a roadmap of the year ahead.

This panel if you have noticed, is smaller than the 6 plus inch panels that the Galaxy A30 and the Galaxy A50 come with. The handset might not in its current form make it to low-priced markets like India and the rest of Asia.

Apple is investing in original content, at least some of which will be available for free to Apple device users within the TV application.

Even as Netflix has been steadily increasing its subscription charges in its home market, the United States, it seems to be swinging in the opposite direction in India in order to tap the booming market. Last year, the Times generated over $700 million in digital revenue, close to the company's target of $800 million in annual digital sales by 2020.

Apple could discuss the service as soon as Monday, or it may choose to detail the offering at its conference for developers later this year.
