Republicans block U.S. Senate Democrats' move on making Mueller report public

U.S. Attorney General William Barr leaves his house after Special Counsel Robert Mueller found no evidence of collusion between U.S. President Donald Trump's campaign and Russian Federation in the 2016 election in McClean, Virginia, U.S., March 25, 2019.

Earlier this month, the House of Representatives voted 420-0 in favor of making the report public, with no Republican opposition.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller did not find that members of the Trump campaign "conspired or co-ordinated" with Russian Federation in its efforts to influence the 2016 election, Attorney-General William Barr wrote in a letter that was made public on Sunday.

The primary aim of Mr Mueller's investigation was to uncover whether any Americans - including members of President Donald Trump's campaign team - conspired with Russian Federation to influence the 2016 election.

Democrats were quick to counter the White House's take on Barr's outline, warning him not to bury the evidence and bringing up the possibility of issuing a subpoena to Mueller to testify on the complete findings of his report.

Potential to see Northern Lights this weekend across Great Lakes region
The Northern Lights are created by disturbances in Earth's magnetosphere caused by a flow of particles from the Sun. Typically, people in the mainland USA will have to travel hundreds of miles to Alaska or Canada to catch an aurora.

Fusion GPS, a Washington-based political research firm, was initially contracted to investigate Trump on behalf of Republicans who wanted to stop Trump's bid for the party's nomination.

Mueller could also be talking about the constitutional aspect to this, where impeachment is a political question for the Congress, not a legal question for the Department of Justice.

Democrats also called for the full findings from Mueller to be released to Congress and the public and vowed to call Barr to appear before lawmakers to answer questions. Other Democrats, including candidates vying for the 2020 presidential nomination, have called for release of the full report. "We're going to see what happens, it's going to be very interesting... there was no collusion, there was no obstruction - everybody knows it".

However, Barr and Mueller stressed that it didn't exonerate him.

Trump fired his Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey in May 2017 and later said in an NBC News interview that "this Russian Federation thing" was one factor in his mind at the time - a significant enough issue to have guaranteed Comey's firing.

Robert Mueller's report is in: How long till we see it?
The Trump 2020 campaign, along with the Republican National Committee, was also preparing aggressive responses. Mueller was appointed following the recusal two months earlier of then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

"Attorney General Barr's letter raises as many questions as it answers", Pelosi and Schumer said in a joint statement. The House has already launched probes into Trump's potential obstruction of justice, security clearances for family members, and Trump's inaugural committee. In Barr's letter, he explained that he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had concluded the president had not obstructed justice from their reading of the report.

Asked if Trump owed Mueller an apology, Sanders added, "I think Democrats and the liberal media owe the president and they owe the American people an apology". "Hasn't come from the press, it has come from the president of the United States and those around him".

For further proof, the network quoted Alexei Pushkov, an outspoken Russian senator known for his sharp commentaries on foreign affairs.
