Pointing to Mueller's equivocation on obstruction of justice allegations against the president, Democrats renewed their demands on Sunday that Barr hand over everything he received from the special counsel for congressional review and eventual publication. "The American public needs more than a four-page summary from the President's hand-picked Attorney General to determine the scope of the Mueller investigation's findings".

Mr Barr's summary said Mr Mueller found no evidence that the Trump campaign coordinated with Russian Federation, despite multiple offers from individuals associated with Russian Federation.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, tweeted that "The fact that Mueller's report does not exonerate the president on a charge as serious as obstruction of justice demonstrates how urgent it is that the full report & documentation be made public without any further delay". She sees the investigation as Democrats' pathetic attempt to impeach Trump.

King called on Barr to show Congress and the American people his work and explain his decision while releasing as much of the report as possible without compromising ongoing investigations or divulging classified sources.

Graham said he would look into those matters as chairman of the Judiciary Committee, using subpoena power if necessary, whether or not a special counsel is appointed. "The attorney general is protecting Trump".

According to Barr's summary, Mueller set out "evidence on both sides of the question" and stated that "while this report does not conclude the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him".

"I don't want a summary of the Mueller report", Democratic presidential candidate Sen.

"It shouldn't surprise anyone that the president's own hand-picked Attorney General doesn't think he obstructed justice".

Barr said their decision was based on the evidence uncovered by Mueller and not affected by Justice Department legal opinions that say a sitting president can not be indicted.

The president's campaign and pro-Trump outside groups are poised to amplify the message, while his advisers expect Fox News and the conservative media to act as an echo chamber.

"It's a shame that our country had to go through this", Trump told reporters after Barr's letter went public. "To be honest, it's a shame your president had to go through this".

For United States President Donald Trump, it may have been the best day of his tenure so far.

Mueller's team concluded Trump's team did not work with Russian Federation in its efforts to help the Republican candidate and hurt his Democratic opponent.

Mueller's office, which interviewed hundreds of witnesses and used dozens of Federal Bureau of Investigation agents over 22 months, "did not find that the Trump campaign, or anyone associated with it, conspired or coordinated with Russian Federation", according to Barr's letter, which was handed over to several Congressional officials on March 24.

Israel opens fire on Gaza rally, killing 2 Palestinians
Intentionally killing civilians who are not "directly participating in hostilities" is a war crime, the report stressed. The panel said over 6,000 people had been shot by military snipers using live ammunition to repel protesters.

Though Mueller did not find evidence that anyone associated with the Trump campaign coordinated with the Russian government, Barr's summary notes "multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign". Trump pressures Comey to make a public statement to that effect.

U.S. President Donald Trump supporters gather in Times Square in New York, New York, U.S., March 24, 2019.

Since his appointment almost two years ago, Robert Mueller sought to answer one overriding question that has cast a shadow over Donald Trump's presidency: Did his campaign coordinate with the Kremlin to win the White House? On that score, the Mueller report delivers a categorical vindication of the president. But as long as the Mueller investigation was open, those who were motivated to believe that there was a conspiracy between Trump and Vladimir Putin could still imagine that the missing proof would be found. Barr did not provide details of the evidence, but said most of it is publicly known.

Much of the charges against the Trump associates related to lying to Congress or federal investigators and none of them directly related to the question of collusion between his campaign and Russian Federation.

Jennifer Rodgers, a former federal prosecutor in the Southern District of NY, said it's unlikely a judge would allow that because no law expressly forbids charges against a sitting president.

"For me or anyone to have an informed opinion on the substance of whether that opinion by Barr.is right, you need to know more about the evidence", Sandick said.
