Jay-Z Celebrates Jordan Peele's 'Us' Movie's Box Office Success


Us, the much-anticipated follow-up to Get Out, has taken very little time to make a very big mark indeed.

Variety reports that Us has raked in a mouthwatering $70 million in its opening weekend in America, a total that is brought up to an even more attractive $86.95 million when the worldwide box office is all accounted for. That's not a terrific rating - Get Out got an A- - and it suggests the word of mouth on the film might not be particularly strong. But both of those films are based on some source material which means "Us" holds the box office title for best opening weekend of a wholly original horror film.

And in fifth was "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World", at $6.5 million (Sh654m). You can see Us with the special double in your life this week. The movie was pulled from theaters in New Zealandfollowing the Christchurch shooting.
