Magic Johnson Throws Rob Pelinka Under The Bus During Lakers Exit

Magic Johnson feels betrayed by folks within the Lakers' organization.

"There is no greater Los Angeles Laker than Earvin Johnson", the team said.

"I had more fun when I was able to be the big brother and ambassador to everybody", he said.

Johnson didn't tell owner Jeanie Buss or general manager Rob Pelinka before he stepped in front of reporters about 90 minutes before the final game of the Lakers' sixth consecutive losing season. "I know she's going to be sick, but I knew I couldn't face her face-to-face, even though I was just with her yesterday".

"Her and I have such an wonderful relationship and I think that she gave me full power to do what I wanted to do".

One step closer to football season! Browns release preseason schedule
The matchup with the Cowboys will be played at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii on August 17 as one of the Rams' two home preseason games. While it's only preseason, it's exciting to have actual NFL football games to look forward to once again.

Johnson explained running the Lakers did not allow him to function in the role he loves most - being a statesman for the game of basketball.

Johnson also put to rest that this unexpected move wasn't made because of Luke Walton's future as the team's head coach.

Buss responded on Twitter by saying she "loved" working with Johnson, while the Lakers released a statement to thank the number one overall pick of the 1979 draft. Johnson said. "I'm going to go back to that handsome life and I'm looking forward to it".

And sure enough, the public drama that Johnson's resignation caused won't help the team's free agency plans. "This is a good day".

"Even though she said 'You do what you want to do.' I want to go back to having fun".

In her first two seasons, Brown shared the responsibility of fueling the Bears' inside game with Kristina Higgins and Nina Davis. The Bears grabbed a 56-55 lead heading into the fourth quarter on the strength of a putback from Cox.

The Lakers ended their season with a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night, after being eliminated from the playoff race last month. "He will always be not only a Lakers icon, but our family".

Johnson would rather be on the other side of things, helping mentor players like tennis champion Serena Williams and Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons.

In speaking to reporters, Johnson said he was exhausted of the many things plaguing the team ranging from injuries, to internal politics to even betrayals.

The Lakers are finishing this season with their best record in six years, but they were eliminated from playoff contention back on March 22.

It's been widely reported that the Lakers were expected to dismiss Walton at the end of the regular season. "I want to go back to who I was before taking on this job".
