Bloomington Police Chief Jeffrey Potts said police don't think there is any relationship between the man and the family of the child, who suffered "significant injuries" and was taken to a hospital.
Court records show Aranda was arrested on July 4, 2015, after police said he matched the description of a man throwing things off the upper level of the Mall of America to the lower level.

A Mall of America spokesperson said in a statement that any additional information about the incident will come from police. The complaint says he approached a woman who was waiting for the restaurant to open and asked her to buy him something. The charges state he threw a drinking glass at a customer at Twin City Grill in the Mall of America.
The child fell to the first floor, where several witnesses and passersby tried to perform CPR on him, Potts said. Potts said he didn't know whether the victim's family is from Minnesota or visiting from elsewhere. "That suspect has been taken into custody, is now at the Bloomington Police Department".
