The GOP governor-turned-senator appeared on CNN's State of the Union Sunday, where he cast some doubt on the president's proposal to relocate detained immigrants from the southern border with Mexico and to so-called sanctuary cities such as New York, San Francisco and Chicago that have policies against arresting illegal migrants exclusively for the objective of deportation.
In a string of Twitter posts, the president hit back at The Times and said their reporting contained not a single kernel of truth.
"Whether or not it moves forward, that's yet to be determined", she told Fox News Sunday.
"I never offered Pardons to Homeland Security Officials, never ordered anyone to close our Southern Border (although I have the absolute right to do so, and may if Mexico does not apprehend the illegals coming to our Border), and am not "frustrated".

President Donald Trump may have threatened to transport illegal immigrants to so-called sanctuary cities to "make everybody crazy" and generate media attention, Republican U.S. Senator Rick Scott said on Sunday.
On Sunday Morning, Trump's Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders cast some doubt about the certainty of the sanctuary city plan. She said she hopes Democrats will work with the president on a comprehensive immigration bill. "We hereby demand that they be taken care of at the highest level, especially by the State of California, which is well known or its poor management & high taxes!" the president tweeted.
"I am aware that concerns have been raised regarding my request and the authority of the Committee".
"The president heard the idea, he likes it, so - well, we're looking to see if there are options that make it possible, and doing a full and thorough and extensive review".

Schaaf appeared on CNN and NPR's "Weekend Edition" to condemn the president's proposal, saying she was "proud to be the mayor of a sanctuary city".
"CAIR was founded after 9/11", she added, "because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties".
Schaaf said Trump's idea was "an outrageous abuse of power and public resources".
